MONTREAL, QC (June 10, 2018) – The Canadian F1 Grand Prix weekend in Montreal the biggest stage in North America for F1600 competitors and category powerhouse Exclusive Autosport defended their 2017 wins, extending their streak to 11 victories in the last 12 races, coming away from this year’s F1600 Canada event with two victories, three podiums and four top-fives. Running in support for the Formula 1 race at Circuit Gilles Villeneuve, the team’s quartet of drivers found ultimate success with American Spike Kohlbecker finished second in Race 2, while both Marco Kacic and Matthew Taskinen added to the team’s results with top-five finishes.

Exclusive Autosport Sweeps Toyo Tires F1600 Opener at CTMP

BOWMANVILLE, ON (May 13, 2018) – Exclusive Autosport’s quartet of young drivers combined to provide the team with a very impressive start to the 2018 Toyo Tires F1600 Championship season at the BEMC Spring Trophy Races at Canadian Tire Motorsports Park. American Spike Kohlbecker finished in the top-four in all three races, and this run included a third-place podium finish in Race 1.

The fourth member for the EA team – Canadian Marco Kacic – qualified on pole for the opening race, but damage from an incident in the first race was severe enough to sideline his car for the remainder of the weekend.The team’s drivers topped the 25-car field in both practice and in qualifying, and then swept the remainder of the weekend with Beaumont, Alberta’s Matthew Taskinen scoring all three main event wins. Exclusive Autosport dominated the podiums in the F1600 A Class, with Vancouver, British Columbia’s Kellen Ritter joining Taskinen in victory lane, scoring two seconds and a third.

Talented US karter selects championship team for step into open wheel racing

SASKATOON, SK (April 4, 2018) – Exclusive Autosport is primed and ready to return to Canadian F1600 this year with a full line-up of drivers, and the team is pleased to confirm that American karting standout Spike Kohlbecker will make his initial steps into open-wheel formula car competition with them in 2018.  Kohlbecker will compete in the Toyo Tires F1600 Championship Series in Ontario and the F1600 Super Series, which includes the Canadian F1 weekend in Montreal and the prestigious Grand Prix de Trois-Rivières. The 15-year-old’s Exclusive Autosport Spectrum 014 F1600 car will be sponsored by Margay Racing, Cfx Advertising, Mark Schwigen Photography and Lake Charles Park.

Kohlbecker and Margay Win Inaugural New Castle Motorsports Park 125

New Castle Motorsports Park held its inaugural 125-lap endurance event this weekend featuring 43 teams to take on the challenge. Temperatures were on the cold side, with a little bit of snow and high temperatures reaching the low 40s. Teams had to battle the track, the other competitors, the weather and of course the challenge of lasting 125 laps without any mechanical issues. It ended up being a young man’s race with 14-year-old Spike Kohlbecker piloting his Margay Ignite K3 chassis to victory.

Spike Kohlbecker Sets Gateway Kartplex Track Record

Spike Kohlbecker set the track record at the Gateway Kartplex on April 7th, 2017. His lap record time of a scorching 37.092 still stands as many other racers, and competitors have tried to break it. Spike still periodically gets lap practice at the Kartplex and continues to hone his craft by teaching younger drivers the ins-and-outs or kart racing. After all, to teach is to learn twice.
